We do our best to answer all questions our supporters may have.

  • Can we volunteer in Nepal with your organization?

We have had a few volunteers come to Nepal to do shoe distributions with our organization. Volunteers must pay all of their own expenses, including plane fare. Please contact us if this interests you.

  • Why don't you collect large size shoes and boots?

The majority of Nepalis have very small feet. Very few men working as porters can wear a men's size 9! As a result, that is our upper size limit.

  • What do you do with donations of shoes and boots that you can't use?

If the donations are in good shape, we find another nonprofit that can use them. If the shoes or boots have excessive wear, we recycle them where possible (Nike has a very good recycling program for used athletic shoes that we take advantage of).

  • How much does an average Nepali make?

Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with 25% of its population living below the international poverty line of less than US $1.25 per day (World Bank, 2012). This is better than the last set of numbers published, when 55% of the population fell into this category.
