Dr. Pramod Khanal is the Medical Director for Colorado Nepal Alliance. A native of Nepal, he received his medical degree from Odessa State Medical University in Ukraine in 2000, then returned to Nepal to practice medicine.

Dr. Khanal worked as a medical doctor for numerous international NGOs in Nepal, including World Vision International, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization (WHO). He practiced family and internal medicine in mid-West Nepal in Jumla and Kalikot Districts, highly rural areas where access to health care is severely limited.

Some of his most interesting work involved investigating outbreaks of dengue fever, cholera, and influenza in Nepal; he was stationed in the Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Health’s Epidemiology Department while employed by WHO.

Pramod moved to the U.S. to join his fiancé (now his wife), and is currently working in research at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO.

Dr. Pramod, as he is known in Nepal, led CNA’s first women’s health camp in February 2020, in Khaniyabas municipality.
