News From Nepal: Rajan Simkhada

Dear Anne

Greetings,

Thank you for the mail and helping to raise fund, Darkha will need lots of aid, I had very short conversation with goal [Gopal Tamang, Our Nepal Project Coordinator. -Ed] on the day of earthquake on Sat, then the phone is not working, I hope they are safe. Let us know how much you can collect and how can we start making a difference. We are getting hundreds of Mail and I am sending this mail to them.

Thank you for the mail, and every one is safe here including our clients travelling with us now, staff and relatives, although some of our family and staff members houses in mountain area are damaged and we lost 2 lives quite close to us, the total toll may reach up to 8,000 in whole across Nepal once all reports arrive. Thank you for prayers and being with us in these hard times. We appreciate your care and concern. This is the first e-mail access we had since the earthquake. Phone lines are still dead and it will take a while to get life back to normal.

Thank you for your kind words to help us.  Our people and staff in this hard time will be setting up a charity Facebook page to re-built Nepal after the earthquake. We are also hard at work setting up the charitable organizations to process the donations, so soon we will be able to accept donations for this effort.  We also will organize some charity treks to built houses, schools and hospitals this summer and autumn season if you want to participate and donate to a worthy cause in Buddha Land Nepal. Please keep checking our face book page, and also our website for updates, we will also send you mail.  It may take weeks to do this, but expect our e-mail soon.

The information on new website www.enepaltreking.com and Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/groups/1584767931802430/ will be regularly updated. We have a humble request for you; once we contact you and send the links, it would be great if you share this info to your friends, families or relatives to check if they will be interested to take part in this noble cause of helping humanitarian aid for the people of Nepal at this hard times. Giving for a worthy cause like this will generate a vast level of positive energy and Good Karma that will be helping to create a great positive energy in life n on earth!

While Nepal is rebuilding we will continue our operations in areas that are less affected by the earthquake, like Chitwan, Lumbini, Pokhara, Everest, Poon hill and some mountain regions of Nepal, plus Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Sri-lanka and Tibet, to continue to generate funds that will help our Nepali staff / people to sustain and allow us to contribute to the rebuilding efforts.

Thank you for being part of the positive change and Please stay in touch. Namaste!

Sincerely,

Rajan Simkhada
