Women’s Health Camp – Feb. 2020

Imagine being carried on someone's back, in a basket, when you are too ill to reach a health provider.  This is the reality for residents of Darkha Nepal, where the closest medical practitioner is a 2-3 hour walk away over rugged terrain.  During the rainy season (approximately June-September) the roads are washed out from monsoon rains.  Even when the roads are passable,  there are no doctors in this region, only Health Assistants (with less training than a U.S. Physician's Assistant).
