It's with great relief that we can tell you that our Nepal Coordinator Gopal Tamang and his family are reportedly safe. While we are still eager to hear from him directly-- and the condition of countless others and their property is still unknown-- we are overjoyed by the news!

Thank you for the mail and helping to raise fund, Darkha will need lots of aid, I had very short conversation with goal [Gopal Tamang, Our Nepal Project Coordinator. -Ed] on the day of earthquake on Sat, then the phone is not working, I hope they are safe. Let us know how much you can collect and how can we start making a difference. We are getting hundreds of Mail and I am sending this mail to them.
Thank you for the mail, and every one is safe here including our clients travelling with us now, staff and relatives, although some of our family and staff members houses in mountain area are damaged and we lost 2 lives ...

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on Saturday has literally hit too close to home.
The classroom we've been building, the children for whom we bought school uniforms, the region in which we've been doing a medical capacity survey, and have distributed nearly 1,000 pairs of shoes and boots: It's only 18 miles from the quake epicenter.
